NEWS & UPDATES
Flexible Learning on Tuesday, August 18, 2026
Good evening. In view of the directive suspending face-to-face classes in Benguet for Tuesday, August 18, Brent Baguio will implement our Flexible Learning Plan tomorrow. With face-to-face classes again suspended, we are ready to move into our Flexible Learning Plan so students can stay connected with their teachers and continue learning from home.
Flexible Learning Plan: Guidelines and Student Guide
As promised in our message this morning, we are sharing more specific guidance on the Brent Flexible Learning Plan so that students and families know what to expect should further suspensions of face-to-face classes occur. Our goal is simple: to keep learning moving forward while remaining flexible, practical, and mindful of the different circumstances families may experience during weather-related disruptions.
Face-to-Face Classes Suspended – Monday, August 17
The City Government of Baguio has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes from Preschool to Grade 12 for Monday, August 17, 2026, due to the Yellow Rainfall Warning issued by PAGASA. In keeping with this advisory and with the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and families as our priority, Brent International School Baguio will suspend on-campus classes tomorrow.
ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
LOWER SCHOOL ( Pre-K to Grade 3)

Lower School includes students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5. All classes are small, encouraging student-centered learning and individual growth. Each class has a Homeroom teacher responsible for the pastoral care of students, and keeping in close contact with parents.
MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 6-8)

The curriculum for Middle School is designed to provide the foundation for students who will pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program, through emphasis on discovery, investigation, and skills-based courses. Middle School students take eight subjects each semester.
UPPER SCHOOL (GRADES 9 – 12)

Upper School begins in Grade 9 with Courses in Grades 9 – 10 serving as preparation for International Baccalaureate courses in Grades 11 and 12. Courses in Grades 11 and 12 are offered at both Higher (HL) and Standard level (SL), as well as Credit level, to cater to students who may or may not choose to take the full IB diploma program.
The
INTERNATIONAL
BACCALAUREATE
Programme

In Grades 11 & 12, Brent follows a program based on the curriculum of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB), a global leader in international education—developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people. Their programmes empower school-aged students to take ownership in their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast.
